In 2025, two organizations—Denver Families for Public Schools and RootED Denver—united to amplify their impact, continuing under the shared name of Denver Families for Public Schools.
RootED Denver (originally called Blue School Partners) was established in 2017 with a focus on providing strategic funding and support to Denver Public Schools (DPS) and community-based organizations. By investing in innovative school models, strategic support, and community-driven solutions, RootED worked to expand access to high-quality education for all students, especially those who had been historically underserved.
Denver Families for Public Schools began in 2021 as a grassroots movement to elevate the voices of families, educators and the broader community in shaping the future of Denver’s education system. Through listening campaigns and leadership development programs, the organization empowered Denverites to advocate for policies and practices that align with their communities’ values and priorities.
Together, we continue to build on our legacy of advocacy, collaboration, and community investment to create a stronger, more inclusive education system that serves every child in Denver.
