Leaders for Education Advocacy Denver (LEAD) is a two-day workshop that gathers a diverse group of values-driven community members who are interested in expanding their knowledge on the DPS landscape and exploring different pathways they can take as LEADers.

Participants learn how to lead within their school communities, across Denver Public Schools, and on campaigns for local office. By taking part in LEAD 101 participants will:

Time commitment

LEAD 101 takes place over a two-day weekend. Saturday sessions typically take place between 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, and Sunday sessions typically take place between 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Program times may be subject to change.

Who should apply?

We’re looking for individuals who are:
  • Denver resident (18 years or older) or any Denver Public Schools community member who is passionate about public education.
  • Community members who want to learn about how to be a more effective advocate for change.

Compensation and support

  • Participants will be given a $150 stipend for completing the two-day workshop
  • Childcare and transportation support is available upon request.
Please note: Candidates currently holding or seeking public office are ineligible to participate in LEAD 101 due to legal compliance in administration of this program.
