DPS Board of Education Voting Today to Release Private Meeting Recording

In the wake of the tragic shooting at East High School in Denver, the Denver Public Schools (DPS) Board held a private meeting to discuss the incident and its aftermath. This decision has raised questions about transparency in the school board and the importance of open meetings in maintaining accountability and trust within the community.

It was announced today that the Board will hold a special meeting this morning to vote on the release of the recording. Given the current climate of widespread mistrust in the Board, we strongly urge them to prioritize the best interests of the community and promptly release the recording as originally mandated by the court.

Transparency is not only a fundamental democratic principle but also a powerful tool for the Denver Public Schools Board of Education to work toward restoring trust with the Denver community.
