Hola! My name is Darlenne Guerra Arevalo or Ms. Guerra to my students at Lake Middle School. Growing up as immigrants my brothers and I were directly touched by the inequities dealt to many still to this day. My final push came when the school-to-prison pipeline separated my brothers and me, and I knew I couldn’t let any of my students experience such a turbulent path. As an undocumented teacher, my presence in the space every day is resistance.
