Denver Families Opposes Title IX Ruling Against East High School

DPS Student raising hand

Denver Families firmly believes that LGBTQ+ students, educators, and families have the right to feel safe and welcome at school.

We stand with Denver Public Schools in their strong commitment to protecting LGBTQ+ students and ensuring every young person feels safe and welcome in our schools. In response to the federal government’s recent Title IX ruling against East High School, DPS has taken a bold stand for inclusion and equity.

As a nonprofit organization working alongside public school communities, we are deeply concerned by the way that this attack sets a precedent of discrimination and puts critical funding at risk. This undermines public education in Denver and destabilizes the welcoming support systems our community has worked hard to build.

In a moment  when public education is under threat, Denver Families remains committed to supporting every Denver student. We will continue working tirelessly to ensure that all young people, no matter their gender identity, have the safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environments they deserve.
