Cynthia Barragán

Program Manager

Cynthia Barragán (she/her/ella) works to empower, develop and support families, educators, and community members to advocate around issues they deeply care about within the Denver Public Schools system.

Cynthia brings many years of experience in community engagement and organizing and has worked with diverse communities on issues ranging from economic justice to immigrant rights. She comes from immigrant parents who moved to West Denver from Michoacan, Mexico, hoping for a better future for their daughters. Cynthia attended Denver Public Schools and witnessed firsthand how school quality differed based on which neighborhood families lived in.

Cynthia’s passion for education was ignited, and she believes all schools – no matter the neighborhood—should be high quality schools and that parents should always have the option to choose what’s best for their family.
