Boni is a first-generation educator with a bachelor\u2019s degree in American Cultural Studies and a master\u2019s degree in social work. He was born in a small \u00d1uu Savi (Indigenous Mixteco) village in Oaxaca, Mexico, and was brought to the United States as a child by my migrant farmworker parents.<\/p>\n
Both of Boni\u2019s parents come from a village where education is a privilege, not a right. Growing up in Washington state and doing agricultural work as a child during the summer, he realized how important it is in this country to get an education.<\/p>\n
Boni now works for DPS as parent\/community liaison where he centers community voices in an organic and genuine way.
